Strategy Manager
Numer referencyjny: SM/TO
Comarch is a global enterprise software player headquartered in Krakow, Poland, with ~4,500 employees across +30 countries and annual revenues exceeding $500M. Since end of 2024, Comarch has been a portfolio company of CVC Capital Partners. The company delivers proprietary software products and platforms across five core sectors: ERP, Telecommunications, Financial Services, e-Invoicing, and Loyalty - serving some of the world's largest enterprises and telecom operators.
Comarch is entering a pivotal phase of its evolution: sharpening sector strategies, accelerating AI integration across its product portfolio, and positioning itself for the next stage of growth under private equity ownership.
To support this ambitious agenda, we are looking for a sharp, ambitious Strategy Manager to work directly with the Chief Transformation Officer and alongside Sector Leaders across ERP, Telco, Financial Services, e-Invoicing, and Loyalty. This is a high-exposure role at the center of a PE-backed transformation - the kind of position where a talented early-career strategist can have outsized impact and accelerate their professional development dramatically.
The Strategy Manager will be the analytical engine behind Comarch's sector strategy work: building the models, running the analyses, structuring the arguments, and preparing the materials that drive strategic decisions at the highest level. This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role - not a supervisory one. You will be in the room when decisions are made, and your work will directly shape them
This role is ideal for someone 2-4 years out of a top-tier consulting firm who wants to move into industry and own real strategic outcomes rather than advise from the outside.
Key responsibilities
- Strategy Analysis & Development
- Conduct deep-dive market analyses, competitive assessments, and modeling to support sector strategy development across Comarch's five business sectors
- Build and maintain sector strategy fact bases: market sizing, competitive landscape mapping, customer segmentation, and trend analysis
- Prepare strategic options papers with clear frameworks, evidence, and recommendations for the CTO and sector leaders
- Support the annual and rolling strategic planning cycle: prepare pre-reads, facilitate workshop logistics, draft outputs and track follow-through
- Cross-Sector Projects
- Run discrete strategic projects end-to-end (e.g., evaluate a new market entry, assess a build-vs-buy-vs-partner decision, analyze cross-sell potential between sectors)
- Synthesize findings across sectors to identify patterns, synergies, and portfolio-level insights
- Support preparation of board-ready strategic materials for Comarch and CVC leadership
- AI & Technology Intelligence
- Track AI, machine learning, and emerging technology trends relevant to Comarch's five sectors
- Develop structured perspectives on where AI creates opportunity or threat in each sector
- Support sector leaders in framing AI-related strategic questions and evaluating investment cases
- Market & Competitive Intelligence
- Build and maintain competitive intelligence frameworks and dashboards across all five sectors
- Monitor competitor moves, regulatory changes, and technology shifts that could impact Comarch's positioning
- Conduct primary research (customer interviews, expert calls, conference attendance) to ground strategy in real-world insight
Candidate profile
Requirements
- Management consulting background: 2-4 years at a top-tier strategy firm. Associate or Senior Associate / Fellow level. You know how to structure a problem, build an issue tree, run a workstream, and deliver a compelling recommendation
- Analytical horsepower: You are genuinely strong at quantitative analysis. You can build a financial model from scratch, size a market, and stress-test assumptions without supervision
- Interest in software / technology: You don't need deep industry experience yet - but you must be genuinely interested in enterprise software, SaaS economics, and technology markets. If you spent your consulting years in TMT, FinServ, or PE due diligence for tech assets, that is ideal
- AI curiosity: You follow AI developments closely, can reason about practical applications (not just hype), and are eager to develop real expertise in how AI reshapes enterprise software
- 5-8 years of total professional experience: Including consulting tenure. You are past the learning curve of structured problem-solving but still hungry to build domain expertise and grow
Critical Competencies
- Self-propelled: You don't wait for instructions. You see what needs to be done, you propose an approach, and you execute. This is a lean operation - there is no team of analysts below you
- Roll-up-sleeves mentality: You build the Excel model yourself. You draft the board slides yourself. You schedule and run the expert calls yourself. Nothing is beneath you
- Structured communication: You can write a crisp one-page memo and present a 20-slide strategy deck to C-suite executives. Pyramid Principle and clean storylining are second nature
- Intellectual curiosity: You genuinely enjoy learning new industries and domains. The prospect of switching between Telco BSS/OSS on Monday and Loyalty platforms on Wednesday excites you, not exhausts you
- Comfort with ambiguity: You don't freeze when the problem is undefined. You propose a structure, test it, iterate, and move forward
- Interpersonal maturity: You will work alongside sector leaders with 15-20 years of domain expertise. You need to earn credibility through the quality of your work, ask smart questions, and push back respectfully when the data tells a different story
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or Master's degree from a top-tier institution
- Consulting experience in TMT, Financial Services, or PE due diligence
- Exposure to enterprise software, SaaS, or platform business models
- Fluency in Polish and English
- International experience or willingness to travel
What you get
- Direct CTO access: You report into and work daily with the Chief Transformation Officer. No layers between you and the decision-maker
- Five sectors, one role: You will build strategic breadth across ERP, Telco, FinServ, e-Invoicing, and Loyalty faster than in any consulting engagement rotation
- PE-grade exposure: You will prepare materials for and interact with CVC Capital Partners. This is operating-level PE experience on your CV
- Accelerated growth trajectory: If you perform, this role is a launchpad. As the strategy function matures, there is a clear path to grow into a Head of Strategy or sector strategy leadership role
- Real outcomes: Your analyses will directly shape a $500M+ company's strategic direction. This is not advisory - this is ownership
Why this role?
This is not a typical "post-consulting" corporate strategy job where you spend 18 months building PowerPoints that no one reads. Comarch is in the middle of a live, PE-backed transformation. The strategy work here is real: it drives decisions on where to invest, what to build, and which markets to enter.
