Legal & Compliance Counsel (Czech Market / IT & Software House)

Due to our rapid expansion into the Czech market and the execution of advanced tech projects, we are looking for an experienced professional for the position of Legal & Compliance Counsel.

Candidate profile

• Education & Qualifications: Master’s degree in Law and an active license to practice law in the Czech Republic (Advokát / Usazovaný evropský advokát)
• IT Industry Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in legal support for the IT sector and a thorough understanding of how a Software House operates
• Compliance Expertise: Proven track record in designing, implementing, and monitoring compliance processes and managing legal risk in tech companies
• IT/IP Law Expertise: Strong knowledge of new technology law and intellectual property law applicable in the Czech Republic and the European Union
• Cybersecurity Knowledge: Practical understanding of Czech industry regulations regarding network and information security, as well as the requirements of the NIS2 Directive
• Negotiation Skills: Experience in commercial, international negotiations of B2B contracts for software development and maintenance
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in written and spoken Czech and English (C1/C2 level, enabling seamless drafting of legal documentation and conducting negotiations)

Your Responsibilities

• B2B Negotiations & Contract Management: Drafting, reviewing, and independently negotiating international framework, implementation (Agile, Fixed-Price), licensing, SaaS, On-Premise, and SLA agreements with clients from the Czech and international markets
• Building & Overseeing Compliance: Designing, implementing, and auditing internal compliance policies and procedures within the organization (e.g., data governance, security policies, legal risk mitigation)
• Ensuring Cybersecurity Compliance: Developing legal processes that meet the requirements of the NIS2 Directive and Czech cybersecurity legislation in close collaboration with IT and DevOps teams
• Project Team Support: Working closely with Delivery Managers, Project Managers, and developers to implement Privacy & Security by Design standards in the software being created
• Intellectual Property (IP) Protection: Comprehensive protection of source code copyrights, monitoring the use of Open Source libraries, and safeguarding the company's proprietary solutions
